A great read, and I loved learning about emotions that I have had and didn't know they had a name for it. I now understand why I have been drawn to the French way of life, since I related to many of the French emotions like depaysement and brabant. Look them up. It's a refreshing read about emotions from a historians point of view instead of a philosopher or psychologist.

A Professor's View of "Introductory Electronics..."

As a second year undergraduate Biomedical Engineering student I used Simpson's text for my first Biomedical Instrumentation class at Duke University. At the time the professor told us that we would have a tough time with the book, but over time we would find that it was an outstanding reference and as our sophistication grew we would come to appraciate it more. That has certainly been the case!
As a professor now, teaching my own Biomedical Instrumentation class I still find this text to be the best on out there. It provides a thorough background on many of the key concepts of Electrical Engineering including AC and DC circuits, Fourier analysis, Semiconductor Physics, Transistors, Op Amps, Op Amp Ciucuits, Digital Logic, and even microprocessors. Some of this is admittedly dated, especially the digital sections, but the fundamentals are all there and I have not seen another book that covers so much, so clearly.
One of the great features of this text is its practical bent. There is a whole chapter on noise; describing phyical sources and some ways of dealing with probelms. There is also an excellent appendix describing various types of capacitors, inductors, and resistors. It answers great questions like: Should I use a ceramic capacitor in my design or an aluminum electrolytic?
Of the roughly 50 books on the shelf in my office, this is the one that is most commonly missing. I recommend this book as an excellent reference in an area where there are a lot of books available.

THE reference book on electronics

I highly recommend Simpson's book. It provides clear, accurate information on all those things that we may have missed (or forgotten). His treatment of solid state devices is detailed, but accurate (too many other books gloss over the SS theory).

The only reason that I can't give it 5 stars is it's age. I would prefer an updated edition. If you have a copy, keep it.

In addition to character analysis, Gann forecasts future periods where he expects critical events to take place in the upcoming year for Wilhelm Hohenzollern. With respect to these forecasts, the author analyzes the periods mentioned in relationship to the method of forecasting taught in the numerology system, and in relationship to another aspect of Gann’s work, which is based on cycles. This is done to show how Gann may have calculated these future periods, which also involves a discussion of the periodic law or law of octaves. Last but not least, there is an analysis of the method employed by Gann to calculate the “key number” for an individual, which is said to govern that person throughout their entire life. As the article implies, this is the whole secret behind Mr. Gann’s discovery.

Excellent book on Gann

This is a meticulously researched book that provides an outstanding analysis of a "little known article" Gann wrote in 1919. Explaining Gann's work can be a challenge due to its inherent complexity. However, the author of this book wrote it in such clear language that it is very easy to follow. It wouldn't surprise me if he/she has a doctorate in mathematics. I say this because to explain this type of content this clearly, you have to deeply understand it inside and out. The book mentions an advertisement by Gann that read, "I investigated astrology and kindred sciences to learn the law of the movements in the markets. In them all there was something lacking, and not until I struck upon the law of vibration and attraction...did I find the key to Wall Street." This book discusses what could very well be the key Gann mentioned in the form of "a study of geometric angles" applied in a certain way. If you have an interest in Gann, this is an excellent book to add to your collection.

Well Done Book on Somewhat Arcane Topic

Well researched. Clearly written. Unfortunately, it restricts itself to one chosen topic -- the numerology that W.D. Gann may have used as a basis for his newspaper article about Kaiser Wilhelm. That topic was not as broad as I would have liked. However, the author has another book in preparation; so we will see in the end. This is not a book directly about Gann's forecasting methods for trading, but it does give some insight into the likely methods that Gann used for one aspect of his forecasting methods. Contains some good references for further research.

This is a carefully researched and informative book. You will have to do your homework, but this book contains many ideas and paths you can decide to follow to dig deeper.
In my opinion the author is a financial and phylosophical researcher with vast knowledge.

I got this book for my daughter so that she could decorate one of her doll houses, but we found the folding to be very complicated. This may be great for people who have a lot of experience folding, but was too difficult for my 8 year old. The book itself is very pretty and IF you are an experienced folder, is likely a good one for you!

Amazing "little secrets"

This book should be a "must" for any and everyone studying metaphysics and/or human energy. It provides keys to self-understanding from several different angles. Find info about healing herbs for you, individually; healing tone that is specifically yours, learn about your aura and what it means/how to use it to your advantage; also has a numerology methodology; breathing techniques for healing and awakening. This book was out of print for a long time. I was soooooo glad to see it come back.
